QUOTE
It has now been confirmed that the game has Local Battle mode. In this mode, Player 1 has to use the Wii U GamePad as their controller perspective on the GamePad indicating that Player 2 uses the TV screen as their perspective. You cannot use 2 of the HORI Pokkén Controllers to play the game in local multiplayer. We’ll bring more details on this as it comes

Mewtwo:

Some modes have been announced for the Wii U version of Pokkén Tournament. First is the standard Single Battle, which has three different difficulty levels. Next is the previously announced local battle where one player plays on the GamePad and another with a standard controller. During this mode, the game will run at 30fps rather than the standard 60fps. Finally is the online mode which has rankings and competitions. It also states that you can use a LAN Cable to link two Wii Us.

New Support Pokémon & Wii U Features: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Jddd0TI4Mg
QUOTE
With the case of Pokken Tournament, The Pokemon Company has stated that there are no plans to release DLC. I mean, there are no plans right now, but I guess that could change!
QUOTE
The Ferrum League is a feature exclusive to the Wii U version. Beating stages adds more support Pokemon and battle areas. There are four ranks to this league: Green League, Blue League, Red League & Chrome League. It takes place in the Ferrum region. In this region, Resonance Stones link people and their Pokémon. In this game, players can customise their player character’s gender, skin colour, hair and so forth.
There are various trainers you will encounter. Nia helps players navigate the world, and she chose Weavile. There are also trainers who exist only in the Wii U version who are tough to beat. Travis with his Garchomp, Keith with his Suicune and Erin with her Braixen
New modes have been revealed. Practice Mode is where you get to test your skills with no time limit or health. Free Training allows you to train freely. Combo Dojo will teach you various combos for the Pokémon.
There’s also the My Town mode where you can alter your character’s appearance and clothing by spending the in-game currency, PokéGold
For the Support Pokémon, Cubone uses Bonemerang which is a quick long range attack that hits multiple times and brings opponents to you.
Diglett uses Dig which makes it easy to land combos when the opponent has been hit. Magneton uses Tri Attack which aims upward. It lowers opponents’ Speed & Attack and is good against jumping opponents. Quagsire uses Mud Bomb. It is effective on players on the ground and damages even if guarded against.
Espeon uses Morning Sun which removes status conditions as well as healing Hit Points. The less time on the clock, the more it raises. Finally, Umbreon uses Snarl which sucks up the opponent’s Resonance Gauge and prevents them being able to land critical hits.

Masaaki Hoshino has spent years of his life focused on Soulcalibur, helping to bring to life fighters like the impossibly buff old man Heihachi and alien-like ninja Yoshimitsu, who wields a sword that looks like a lightsaber. But if you ask him his favorite video game character, his response is a bit surprising: the adorable fox-like pokemon Absol. In fact, Hoshino is such a big fan of Nintendo’s monster-battling series that he started a club within Soulcalibur developer Bandai Namco, where employees could get together to play Pokemon in their free time.
So when the company announced that it was working on a Pokemon-themed fighting game, he naturally jumped at the opportunity. "We were looking at who at Bandai Namco could lead this," he says, "and because of my history with Pokemon it fell on me. It was a great honor."
Pokken Tournament, as the game is now known, is a 3D fighting game where pokemon battle each other one-on-one. But it almost wasn’t a fighting game at all. When representatives from Bandai Namco met with Tsunekazu Ishihara, CEO of The Pokemon Company, the idea was to do a Pokemon-themed version of the rhythm series Taiko Master. But the CEO had other plans. "Mr. Ishihara actually said, ‘If we’re going to work with Bandai Namco, I want to do a collaboration with Tekken,’" explains Katsuhiro Harada, long-time producer of the Tekken fighting game series, who is working alongside Hoshino on Pokken Tournament. The game was first announced as an exclusive for Japanese arcades, but now Nintendo is now bringing it to the rest of the world with a version for the Wii U on March 18th.
"WE WANTED TO MAKE SURE IT WAS A LOT MORE APPROACHABLE."
Despite the pedigree of its creators, the goal of Pokken Tournament’s development wasn’t to create another hardcore fighting game. Instead, they sought to appeal to fans of the series new to the fighting genre. "When we first announced [Pokken], a lot of people had the impression that it’s Tekken gameplay but with Pokemon characters, but that’s not what we wanted to do," explains Hoshino. "We wanted to make sure it was a lot more approachable, something that’s really easy to understand and pick up and play for pretty much anyone."
Pokken drastically simplifies the traditional fighting game control scheme. The genre is notorious for forcing players to memorize long and complex button sequences in order to pull off moves, but Pokken Tournament isn’t like that. Instead, you can perform every move in the game either by pressing a single button, or combining a button press with a directional input. Other aspects of the game have been streamlined as well. In Tekken, when you block an incoming blow you need to worry about whether it’s a high, mid, or low attack; Pokken Tournament features a single block that works for all attacks.
According to Harada, this level of complexity can turn players off of the genre. "One of the elements that [fighting games] all share is that, before you can even get to the back-and-forth, the really interesting gameplay that’s so core to fighting games, you need to be able to execute a lot of really tricky commands," he says. The changes in Pokken Tournament mean that "you can get to that strategy stage much quicker."
That said, the producers still believe that once you get past the simple beginning, there’s a lot of depth to the game. "When you get to the higher levels of gameplay, I feel that Pokken Tournament and the other fighting games have a similar level of skill that’s required," says Harada. As testament to that, the game will be featured at the Evo fighting game championship this July.
"I WANTED TO MAKE SURE THAT THERE WERE ALL SORTS OF POKEMON REPRESENTED."
Outside of making the game more approachable, the biggest challenge the developers had was deciding which pokemon should make it in the game. With more than 700 different monsters to choose from, it wasn’t easy. In the early stages of development, Pokemon CEO Ishihara wanted the game to focus on fighting-type pokemon — the humanoid creatures featured in the games and shows — but Hoshino pushed against that idea.
"Being a huge fan, I wanted to make sure that there were all sorts of pokemon represented in the game," he says. "Typically in a fighting game, everyone has two arms and two legs, but we didn’t want to limit it to just that." The final cast of characters includes fighting pokemon like Lucario, but also fan-favorites like Charizard and Pikachu. The strangest addition is probably Chandelure, a limbless pokemon that looks a lot like a chandelier.
With the March release date fast approaching, the game is mostly complete. That means that you likely won’t see any new characters aside from what’s already been announced, though that list does include one notable absence: Absol. "I want to leave the possibility that it’ll eventually show up," Hoshino says, "but it’s still not in the game."

QUOTE
Metacritic - 75 GameRankings - 76.87%
Reviews (with Notes) GameXplain - "Liked"
IGN - 8.0 Pokkén Tournament takes a lot of what we know from old fighting gaming favorites and sticks them into a blender, delivering a unique take on both Pokémon and on fighting games in general. Sometimes all those ingredients spill over a container that’s a little too full - there is a surprising amount to learn beyond the beginner’s level, and that may alienate some Pokémon fans without fighting game experience. Pokkén Tournament does do a good job, though, at alleviating this bloat of mechanics with single-player modes to help ease into the action.
GameSpot - 9 Nintendo’s Wii U provides a paucity of fighting games, but Pokken Tournament has redeemed that drought by being one of the best on any platform. Frequently magnificent to look at, delicately designed, and rewarding for players across all skill levels, it’s the Pokemon fighting game deserving of a 20-year wait.
Game Informer - 7 For Pokémon fans, it’s a hard recommendation for its self-imposed separation from the grand Pokémon universe. For the person in the middle of the Pokémon and fighting game Venn diagram, however, enough depth exists to encourage heated, practiced competition to earn it a spot next to Super Smash Bros. on the shelf.
GamesBeat - 79/100 Pokkén Tournament isn’t quite as successful as some of the other Pokémon releases and other genre experiments (Pokémon Conquest comes to mind), but it offers high-energy battles and a unique framework for fights, even if it could use some tweaking. It’s fun, and it has a battle ecosystem with real potential. Also, I do think its multiplayer could have legs in the esports scene. But a few changes to Pokkén’s mechanics and structure could make a potential future entry something even more solid and special.
USgamer - ★★★☆☆ (3/5) Pokken Tournament is fun for a bit, but I'm not convinced that it has any staying power as a fighting game. It's further hurt by its thin single-player mode and limited roster, which hurts its potential with casual fans. As attractive and faithful to the license as it is, it has plenty of room for improvement. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a sequel.
ShackNews - 6 Pokken Tournament tries its best to cater to a more casual fighting crowd, but in its efforts to do so rapidly becomes mundane after repeated playthroughs. There's little lasting appeal here and no real incentive to get better, ironic given that the game is based on the property made famous by wanting the very best, like no one ever was.
Without the depth and complexity of a Street Fighter or Tekken and without the increasing fun factor and crazy comebacks of a Smash Bros., Pokken Tournament falls into a nebulous middle ground that leaves it feeling unremarkable, much like a throwaway Pokemon battle with a Bug Catcher or some other random trainer.
Destructoid - 7.5 Pokkén Tournament is more than meets the eye, and it would be foolish to judge it just based on the Pokémon name alone. Bandai Namco has crafted a deep brawler that deserves to be up there with a lot of the competition, but some logistical issues specific to the Wii U hold the game back a bit more than I'd like.
Eurogamer - "Recommended" For my money, it's a triumph on both counts, though the wider market might take some convincing. A stumbling debut in Japanese arcades - in part thanks to a more limited roster, and a rather generous playtime per credit - has earned it an undeservedly negative reputation ahead of its console release. Whether it will reach a large enough audience on Wii U to repair its standing remains to be seen, but Pokkén Tournament has earned the right to be re-examined from a fresh angle
Kotaku - Favorable Pokken Tournament might not quite be the Pokemon fighting game I’ve been dreaming of for years, but to be fair my dreams are ridiculously lofty. Despite its limited-by-reality scope, it’s the closest we’ve come to capturing the excitement of animated Pokemon battles in video game form.
Nintendo Everything - "Thumbs Up" Pokken Tournament excels at being a refreshing crossover that, in some cases, was long overdue. After first seeing the game back in 2013 and finally arriving to Wii U in households around the globe, it’s good to have the solidarity in knowing that the game has indeed maintained its charm and aura of awesome, while living up to the hype when, as of late, so many games fail to deliver once they’ve released. Pokken Tournament is extremely accessible and should please both fighting newcomers and veterans alike, while also appeasing the Pokemon crowd.
Lazygamer - 7.9 Pokken Tournament may have the image of a kid-friendly fighting game, but it’s absolutely dead serious in its approach to offering something new to fighting game fanatics.
EGM - 7.0 Pokkén Tournament was a brave experiment, and it succeeds in many areas. However, it fails in some others—whether from lack of depth or outright poor design—that keeps it from reaching that upper-tier of the fighting game genre’s elite entries.
Gaming Trend - 80/100 Pokkén Tournament retains the spirit and charm of Pokémon, while still a fun fighter that excellently caters to all skill levels.
Gaming Nexus - 8.5 For trainers wanting a true one-on-one real time Pokemon experience, Pokken Tournament delivers rather well. There are a few things here and there that could use some improvement, most notably some online features and how ranking up works with the Ferrum League, but overall a rather enjoyable game for Pokemon and fighting game fans alike.
Attack of the Fanboy - ★★★½ (3.5/5) A limited character selection, too-similar map structure, and a somewhat cumbersome and button-mashy combat drags down what would otherwise have been a stellar new entry for the Pokemon franchise. Still, with lowered expectations, shifting away from a totally solid Pokemon or fighting game, to something more akin to fan service, many will find enough to justify a purchase here.
Nintendo Enthusiast - 9 While it may be based off of Tekken’s formula, Pokkén pretty much has an identity of its own as it stays true to the Pokémon theme. Super Smash Bros. is no doubt a great fighter as well, but Pokkén offers an experience that is a little tighter and more intimate. It’s hard to really compare the two seeing as they are relatively different, but I think I’ve been enjoying Pokkén a little more. Either way, the game is surely an amazing new venture for both Bandai Namco and The Pokémon Company. I find it amazing that everything turned out so right on the first try; true, there are a few issues, but that doesn’t change the fact that Pokkén Tournament is pretty much the Pokémon that we always wanted. Here’s hoping for a sequel in the near future!
CGMagazine - 8 Much like Hyrule Warriors, I still don’t understand how a game like Pokken Tournament wasn’t made sooner considering the core of Pokemon’s gameplay is in its fighting, and Bandai Namco has turned so many popular animes into tournament-fighters. This could’ve been a hit even back on the N64. While it is a little rough around the edges, it’s an interesting fighter and a welcomed addition to Nintendo’s collection of one first-party fighting games. Both Pokemon fans and fighting-game fans will find something enjoyable with Pokken Tournament.
Plus it’s got a luchador Pikachu. What more do you want?

Профессионалы в файтингах (я вообще не играю в такие игры), объясните значение термина "quitting", "rage quitting", "quitting in the middle of the battle"?

Bandai Namco has announced that Pokken Tournament has hit a milestone. The Wii U release of the game has now shipped 1 million units worldwide. The title should be somewhere close to that amount in sales, which is excellent news. Between the home console success and arcade action, perhaps we could see another installment down the road.
