Ремастер основан на PS3 версии, 60fps:

This week's issue of Famitsu featured an interview with Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition producer Tomizawa Yuusuke and director Higuchi Yoshito. We now have the full details from that interview, which you can find below.
- the decision to release a remastered version stemmed from how Vesperia turns ten years old this year
- the devs had a desire to answer requests from fans who want to play previous games in the series on current hardware
- they hope that the simultaneous worldwide release, as well as the Switch/PC versions, will help bring in new fans as well
- Tomizawa is glad that the series is welcome overseas
- this remastered version is going to be based off the PS3 version
- fans overseas asking for it for a long time also contributed to the decision to make the remastered version
- many projects are being considered for overseas sales, but specifics were not shared
- will not feature any new content not included in the PS3 version
- costumes and items that were paid DLC in that version will be included for free
- remastered version was made with full HD in mind
- the entire game will run at 60 FPS
- anime cutscenes have been upscaled to full HD
- the source code and other data for the original version was intact
- when they went to use this data, they found it to be more“unique” than anticipated
- this is because Vesperia was their first HD title, and they went through a lot of trial and error in its development
- Tomizawa had to enlist the aid of staff members who had worked on the original version
- the most important thing is to have as many people as possible love the Tales series for as long as possible
- it is thus a necessity to give them chances to taste the series’ roots
- the team plans to look at requests for other Tales remakes/remasters
- Tomizawa is the new producer for series entries on home consoles
- their current goal is a new home console title
- Tomizawa has worked on the new game from the beginning, and has worked long and hard with the team
- the team aimed to define the value of the brand, and what fans like about the series
- development on the new game is being handled by Bandai Namco Studios, with trustworthy staff who helped build the series
