на карте размером 32Mb можно уместить 24 минуты мультика (фильма), а на
карточку размером 256Mb влезет аж 192 минуты (БОЛЕЕ 3 часов!).

Планируется так же продавать это чудо и в европе, однако пока не решен вопрос
с "зонами" (как у DVD), поэтому точных сроков пока никто назвать не может.

Am3, a company which's shares are also hold by Toshiba and Bandai, will release a Smart Media Player for the Gameboy Advance and Advance SP.

The Adapter is supposed to play 24 minutes of animation (movies) on a standard 32MByte Smart Media card, a 256MByte Smart Media Card could hold up to 192 minutes. The compression technology used is provided by IMAGICA, which are also known for the HDCAM video compression.

Together with the release of the unit, am3 and it's partners will start to release content through different channels throughout Japan. Movies will be available on Smart Media Cards, through docking station in convenience stores and partner stores, on CD-ROM through game shops, movie and music stores. Since media is provided on CD-ROM, Lik Sang expects files to show up on the internet pretty soon after it's release.

Since am3 is shipping equipment to content providers such as movie companies, cartoon labels, game studios etc to produce their own videos, the following content is expected to show up in Japan summer this year:

- TV animation and GBA original animation
- Japanese Cartoon Movies of all kinds (Yes, Pikachu too!)
- Game previews and trailers
- Movie preview, trailers, making of
- Picture galleries
- Music Videos
- Music files (also game music)
- Educational software titles
- E-books, Karaoke etc.

The Gameboy Advance Smart Media Player will also be released outside of Japan, but no release date or distribution partner has been named. Since the Gameboy Advance doesn't have a region lockout, we don't expect that available media will come with such. It should be possible to play all files released on any GBA or Smart Media Player around the world.
