Chapter 4 development is going better than ever. We are on track to meet our internal deadline. The new hires are already making a great difference to improve the atmosphere and feel of the chapter. I feel really good about this, champ.

Here’s the current progress:

Cutscenes: Only a few ones left (some tough ones)! Other than that, need polish.
Battles: All the attacks are technically done, but still trying to improve the flow of the the bosses.
Overworld: Still need to create around 10 maps! And polish some others.
Gimmicks: A kind of complicated gimmick nearly has all of its iterations made. Then there’s whatever needs to go in those 10 maps, and one more thing. (A gimmick is something like the teacup ride from Chapter 2.)

Nintendo выкупит авторов Switch-портов Hogwarts Legacy и Mortal Kombat 1

Nintendo заключила соглашение с Embracer Group о покупке студии Shiver Entertainment, базирующейся в США, Майами. Речь идёт о приобретении 100% акций.

Shiver Entertainment была основана ветеранами игровой индустрии в 2012 году. До приобретения конгломератом Embracer Group в 2021 году она успела поработать в числе прочего над несколькими проектами серии Scribblenauts и портом Mortal Kombat 11 на Switch.

В списке недавних проектов Shiver Entertainment значатся Switch-порты Hogwarts Legacy и Mortal Kombat 1 — последний, напомним, в своё время особенно раскритиковали и назвали «грабежом».

После того, как Shiver Entertainment официально перейдёт в статус дочерней студии Nintendo, она продолжит «портировать и разрабатывать игры для нескольких платформ, включая Nintendo Switch».

nSwitch has overtaken DS to become the best-selling gaming system ever in Japan. That’s according to the latest data from Famitsu.

Earlier today, the outlet reported that Switch sold another 40,000 units. The console’s overall total now sits at 32,903,701 units. To compare, the DS sold 32,864,129 units total in Japan. Switch secured the record during its 377th week on the market.
