March 10, 2005 - A god of developers for many game fans, SNK has a line-up of classics that are just dying to return. One of the most wanted is Metal Slug, the goofy but grueling 2D shooting series. Game Boy Advance players finally got their Metal Slug, after demanding it as one of the games that GBA shouldn't go on without. Luckily, devotees were patient enough to turn out when Metal Slug Advance finally did arrive on the system, and the success of that game has given the go-ahead for more Metal Slug releases.

After changing up the play with Metal Slug Advance, SNK is turning to the classics and releasing Metal Slug 1 on GBA. This conversion of the SNK classic will not be released until this Winter, so it may depend on how much momentum the GBA carries now that DS is here, but SNK is eager to see more Metal Slug titles released for the handheld. That said, the oldie original is a goodie -- it is unknown if multiplayer will be added to this new GBA mission, but the gameplay of the original and the mission structure on this edition should make for another Metal Slug collectible.

Metal Slug 1 is quite a ways away for its Winter 2005 release, but the game may bomb in at E3 in a couple of months.
